Rotorua - Taupo - Napier Rotorua sits calmly atop some remarkable cracks in the earth's crust - sometimes giving the impression that the town is on fire. This morning take a tour of Te Puia to see roaring geysers and boiling mud pools at the thermal areas. Also see the native and exotic vegetation at Rainbow Springs, which are world renowned for their pools of tame trout. Finally, the Agrodome Farm display features a vital section of New Zealand's agriculture, sheep shearing and a sheep dog display. This afternoon travel to the picturesque lakeside town of Taupo, and continue onto the art deco city of Napier. Tonight enjoy the Big Picture Wine experience. |

At Wellington Departing from Wellington Railway Station, you will be met at Featherston Railway Station by your Gourmet Wine Escape Coach and driver. From Featherston we travel the 20 km’s to the Martinborough Wine Village, for the first of the four vineyards included in the tour. These are selected from and may include Te Kairanga, Muirlea Rise, Murdoch James Estate, Alana Estate, Palliser Estate Wines of Martinborough, vineyards. Lunch is included in this tour at one of the delightful cafe's the area has to offer. After lunch visit the remainder of the days selected wineries. The final visit of the day is to the Martinborough Wine Centre or IN.GRE'DI.ENT Cafe for a further glass of wine or coffee or tea along with a delicious cheese platter. Wander through the interesting range of retail shops and galleries. Travel back to Featherston where we once again board the Tranz Metro train back to Wellington. Return to your accommodation in the afternoon. |
