Purpose built in 1986, the Lakeland Queen is modelled after the shallow draft, stern driven Mississippi River Boats, ideal for the shallow lakebed of Lake Rotorua.
The interior was completely refurbished in 2006 with a new kitchen, bar, facilities and a dance floor.
Take in Lake Rotorua's beautiful and must see sights such as Sulphur Bay, Hinemoa's Point, Mokoia Island, Kawaha Point and Ohinemutu.
Designed specifically for our early birds, the Lakeland Queen sails daily for breakfast at 7AM and then again at 8AM.
Each one hour cruise includes an entertaining commentary from the Captain, a beautiful morning breakfast spread, and the wonderful service of the staff.
Breakfast includes freshly baked rolls and croissants, with butter & a variety of New Zealand jams and preserves, assorted traditional cerials, fresh Kiwi Fruit, sliced peaches, pears and plums, seasonal New Zealand Dairy yogurt, fresh fruit platter.
This is followed by hot mains of farm fresh scrambled eggs, hot grilled bacon, sweet baked beans, oven baked hash brown potatoes, grilled country sausages, stir fried egg noodles with fresh seasonal vegetables.
Accompanied by milk, fresh chilled orange juice, assortment of hot herbal teas, and coffee.
The one hour Express Lunch Cruise departs at either 12Noon or 1PM.
Lakeland Queen Lunch Cruise is a quick mid-day getaway. Delicious food, lovely views and wonderful staff are all the re-energising you need for the day ahead.
Lunch includes chef's choice of fresh salads, hot mains of steamed fragrant rice, medley of seasonal fresh vegetables, steamed gourmet potatoes tossed with garlic butter and spring onions, stir fried rice with farm fresh eggs and bacon, grilled Captain Cook's style cajun Chicken with fresh vegetables, grilled BBQ lamb ribs. Dessert is freshly cut seasonal fruit, and beverages are hot herbal teas, coffee. Beer, wine and spirits are available for purchase from the bar.
Enjoy coffee on the 1PM afternoon sailing. For one hour, take in the sights and the beautiful Rotorua weather and the serenity of the Lakeland Queen as we gently glide along the lake. Enjoy a coffee or tea or purchase an extra drink from the bar.
Sailing only on Saturday Nights for 2 hours from 7PM, as the sun sets with Mokoia Island as the backdrop.
The dinner cruise is available on other nights for group bookings on request.
The beautiful Dinner Cruise offers you plenty of gorgeous scenery to ensure an experience to remember for years to come.
The dinner includes a cold deli selection, salads of vine ripened tomatoes served with basil and olive oil, tossed green salad and various other salads.
Then a seafood entree of fresh New Zealand Shrimp Cocktail with herbs. A delicious hot main course has roast potatoes in garlic butter glaze, steamed medley of fresh garden vegetables, steamed fragrant rice, boneless chicken thigh fillets served in a thai Red Curry Sauce with garlic and red peppers, fresh fish of the day simmered in a creamy spinach and butter sauce.
Ther is a carvery of honey glazed ham and spike of Star Anise and apple sauce.
Dessert is traditional New Zealand Pavlova with fresh whipped cream, seasonal fresh cut fruit platter, couble chocolate cake with fudge icing.
Beverages are hot herbal teas, coffee. Beer, wine and spirits are available for purchase from the bar.
